Many new and shocking photographs of Syrian war crimes will soon be released, Anadolu Agency Middle East and Africa News Editor Turan Kislakci has said.
Kislakci said in an interview in Istanbul on Thursday that the photos - showing civilians burned to death in stone ovens - will appear soon, as their publication was currently prohibited.
He said the photos were from a batch of 55,000 which allegedly show 11,000 detainees who were tortured during the first six months of protests against the Assad regime, which had been staged peacefully.
The graphic images show the brutal nature of the Assad regime, Kislakci said.
Some of the pictures have previously been published by Anadolu Agency on January 20, along with a detailed 31-page report entitled "Syria war crimes evidence".
The photos were provided by a former Syrian army police officer, known under the codename "Caesar".
"Caesar", who served for 13 years in the Syrian army, supplied the photos of the tortured and executed detainees to an inquiry team based in the UK, and the agency report accompanied by the photos made headlines around the world.
