In Adana Seyhan, the basement of a business selling construction materials next to a private school was turned into a casino. During a raid conducted by police teams, gambling tables and a large number of weapons hidden in the ceiling were seized. Out of the 8 suspects captured, 5 were arrested.
The Seyhan District Police Department's Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau teams acted upon receiving information that gambling was taking place at a business adjacent to a school on Teachers Boulevard. During the raid on the business, which sells construction materials, it was revealed that the basement had been converted into a casino.
8 PEOPLE ARRESTED
In the operation, 8 suspects were arrested along with the business owner A.G. (36). During the search, 3 gaming tables used for gambling, 6 unlicensed handguns, 1 unlicensed shotgun, 77 bullets, and 13 drug pills were seized in the office section's attic. The firearms were sent to the Adana Criminal Police Laboratory for examination.
"GAMING TABLES FOR HOBBY PURPOSES"
The suspects were taken to the police station for questioning. It was learned that the business owner A.G. stated in his testimony, "I invited my friends and their families for a mangala gathering. We met for a meal organization. We use the gaming tables for hobby purposes, to play games among ourselves."
Furthermore, it was reported that A.G. had previously been processed for the crime of "providing a place and means for gambling," and that the same business had been sealed for this reason.
5 PEOPLE ARRESTED
After their procedures at the police station, the suspects, including A.G., were sent to the courthouse, where 5 suspects were arrested, while 3 were released under judicial control. The business was sealed.
