One Killed İn Eastern Cairo Clashes: Pro-Morsi Bloc

An Egyptian youth was killed late Monday in clashes between demonstrators and policemen in eastern Cairo, a source in ousted President Mohamed Morsi's main support bloc has said.



Mohamed Shaddad, a member of the revolutionary Ultras Freedom movement, was killed by a gunshot in the head during clashes between policemen and protesters in Mataria neighborhood, the source with the National Alliance for the Defense of Legitimacy told The Anadolu Agency.



Egyptian authorities have not yet confirmed the fatality.



Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, meanwhile, said hospitals had not received any victims in Monday's clashes.



On Sunday, at least 23 people were killed in clashes between protesters and security forces on the fourth anniversary of the Jan. 25 revolution, which ousted autocratic President Hosni Mubarak.



Egyptian authorities blame the Muslim Brotherhood, the movement from which Morsi hails, for the violence, but the Brotherhood accuses security forces of using "brutal force" in dealing with demonstrations.
