Only 5 Days Left To Solve Greece Crisis': Tusk

European Council President Donald Tusk warned on Tuesday that there are only five days left to save Greece from bankruptcy as EU leaders are set to gather on Sunday to reach a new bailout agreement. 



Speaking to reporters after heads of government of the eurozone gathered in Brussels on Tuesday for an emergency summit, Tusk said: "The stark reality is that [we] only have five days to find the ultimate agreement."



"Our inability to find agreement may lead to the bankruptcy of Greece and the insolvency of its banking system. And for sure, it will be most painful for the Greek people."



"Until now I have avoided talking about deadlines, but tonight I have to say it loud and clear - the final deadline ends this week," Tusk said.



"This is the most critical moment in our history, that of the EU and euro zone," Tusk said.



European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said after Tuesday's summit that he wanted Greece to remain in the eurozone, but added that the European Commission had prepared a 'Grexit' scenario in detail. - Brüksel
