Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 13 illegal alcohol production facilities were uncovered and 179 suspects were apprehended in operations against illegal alcohol across 81 provinces. According to the information shared by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, operations targeting alcohol smuggling and counterfeiting were carried out in 81 provinces as a result of the efforts of the Provincial Police Chiefs' Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Units. As a result of the operations, 30,836 bottles of illegal and counterfeit alcoholic beverages, 16,888 liters of ethyl alcohol, and 4,564 liters of counterfeit alcoholic beverages were seized. While 13 illegal alcohol production facilities were uncovered, legal action was taken against 179 suspects.

In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that illegal alcohol poses a threat to public health, stating, "By seizing these products, we have prevented harm to our citizens' lives and health caused by the production of counterfeit and illegal alcohol. The production of counterfeit alcohol is not just a crime; it is a deadly trap that threatens public health. Those who bring these products to the market disregard both the health and lives of our citizens. Please report suspicious situations to our 112 Emergency Call Center. 'We will take the necessary actions.'"
