Orkan Çınar, who has ended his football career and is now running a döner shop, explained his reasons for entering this sector. Speaking about opening the döner shop, Orkan Çınar said, "I believe that changing sectors is healthier for me both mentally and from a family perspective. Whether it’s a little or a lot, I will adjust my expenses according to my means. I feel very at ease. My father is a döner master with 30 years of experience. I opened the business relying on him."

Former Beşiktaş football player Orkan Çınar has opened a new chapter in his life after his football career by running a döner shop in the İnegöl district of Bursa.

HE WORE THE JERSEYS OF MANY TEAMS INCLUDING BEŞİKTAŞ

Çınar, who started football in Germany, took his first step into professional football in 2015 by going on loan to Gaziantepspor after completing his youth development process there. After a successful period that caught the attention of big teams, Orkan Çınar transferred to Beşiktaş in the 2017-2018 season of the Süper Lig.

HE PROVIDED AN ASSIST IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The 30-year-old Çınar, who wore the black-and-white jersey for a while, also provided an assist for a goal against the German representative RB Leipzig in the Champions League. After transferring to various teams following Beşiktaş, Çınar ended his career at the age of 29 by playing for Adanaspor. Orkan Çınar, who retired from football at a young age, opened a döner shop about a month ago in the İnegöl district of Bursa, continuing his business life in a different sector.

'I DISTANCED MYSELF FROM FOOTBALL BY MY OWN DECISION'

Çınar told an AA reporter that he wanted to distance himself from football by his own decision. He stated that he did not choose to continue his career for another 10 years, saying, "Everyone followed my process at Beşiktaş, which is one of the biggest clubs in Turkey. It could have been better, but it was meant to be this way. I wanted to distance myself from football by my own decision. I think football is a sector where words do not hold their place. I did not want to be part of this sector. I don't want to speak ill of it, but the facts are evident."

'I OPENED THE BUSINESS TRUSTING HIM'

Çınar mentioned that after ending his career, he received suggestions from friends like "Do commentary," but he did not want that. He explained that he thought döner was the most suitable job for him, stating: "I started to think about this while I was in Adana. I was in a position where I couldn't manage. I had savings from my career. After doing the math, I thought it would be healthier for me to change sectors both mentally and for my family. It may be little or a lot; I will stretch my feet according to my blanket. I feel very comfortable. My father is a döner master with 30 years of experience. I opened the business trusting him. I wouldn't have had the courage without him. Thank God we are doing well in our current position."

'I WANT TO BRAND MY BUSINESS AND SPREAD IT ACROSS TURKEY'

Çınar stated that after opening the döner shop, this situation was mocked on social media, but it backfired and he received positive feedback. Expressing that he did not do anything wrong, Çınar said, "Everyone loves a hardworking person; we are in our bread. Everyone receives it well. Ricardo Quaresma once told me, 'If you let what other people say about you affect you, you won't be able to do any work.' Everyone can think what they want. I believe I chose a clean and halal path."

'WHICH IS HARDER, CUTTING DÖNER OR CUTTING MEAT?'

Çınar stated that his business in döner is going well and concluded his words as follows:

"After the media shares, interest increased. The reason could be my career, but what matters to me is that the person who eats my product comes back. That means my product is good. If someone doesn't like it, they can say so, but I don't believe that either. They asked me, 'Is it harder to cut döner or to cut meat?' For me, cutting döner is harder. I have been playing football for 25 years, and I have been cutting döner for 3 weeks. I start every job with a goal. With a good plan and program, I want to brand my business and spread it across Turkey. I am sure I will reach 20-25 branches. I don't know how long it will take, but I will work hard with determination."
