A Palestinian youth was killed Saturday and his brother moderately injured in a bomb explosion in the southern Gaza Strip.
Nagi Abu Sabla, 21, was killed and his brother Akram,18, was wounded after an unexploded ordinance left over by Israeli forces went off in Rafah, Heath Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told The Anadolu Agency.
In July and August of last year, more than 2,160 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were killed – and some 11,000 injured – during a 51-day military onslaught by Israel.
Israel had fired a large number of missiles and bombs, some of which had not exploded.
The Israeli offensive finally ended on Aug. 26 with a cease-fire signed in Cairo between Israel and Palestinian resistance factions.
