Passengers Of Blazed Plane: We Are Grateful For Being Alive

Passengers of the Turkish Airlines plane which made an emergency landing after its engine caught fire, related to the press members the panic moments in the plane. “Everyone was grateful to be alive after deplaning safely” one of the passengers Hasan Ali Eryılmaz told to reporters.

Eryılmaz also stated that the plane touched the ground hard and unbalanced during its first landing attempt. “Everything happened in few seconds. After descending on Atatürk airport, the plane made a bumpy landing hitting its right side engine to the ground and took off again. Suddenly a woman sitting next to the window on the right row screamed saying the engine caught fire. Everyone panicked and we were announced to be ready for emergency situation while our plane made 15-20 minutes of circuit in the air before landing” Ali Eryılmaz said speaking about horror he has witnessed on board.

Meanwhile Turkish Airlines made a brief statement about the incident. Passengers on the TK 1878 flight from Milan to İstanbul were safely evacuated, the statement from the company said.
