Philippine Gov't Condemns Campus Shooting In North Philippines

The Philippine government on Tuesday condemned the shooting rampage that occurred at a school campus in north Philippines on Monday.

Four people, including three teachers were killed, and three others were injured at Pangasinan National High School Monday afternoon when a police officer who allegedly tried to enter the campus to collect money from some teachers went on a shooting rampage.

The Philippine Department of Education said it offers its sincere condolences to families who lost their beloved ones in the shooting incident.

"We condemn all forms of violence especially as they occur in schools. We maintain that schools are zones of peace where the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and personnel are of utmost importance," the department said in a statement.

The department said it will provide psychological interventions to the school community and work with local government to ensure justice prevails.
