Juba, South Sudan (AA)- A passenger jet carrying 44 people crashed in South Sudan's northwestern town of Wau.
"The plane crashed this afternoon at Wau airport, at the moment we don't have full details on the casualties," South Sudanese Transport Minister John Luk Jok confirmed to Anadolu Agency over the phone.
"The crash is said to have happened at 3 pm when the plane came down to land after flying from Juba to Wau," he added.
Local radio reports said at least nine people had been pulled out alive from the wreckage. -
