Seven suspected militants have been killed by Pakistani police in the southern port of Karachi, police said.
The suspects allegedly belonged to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, police chief Rao Anwar Ahmed said following Wednesday's operation.
Ahmed said security forces raided a house in Sohrab Ghot, a shanty town district of Karachi notorious for drug-trafficking, following a tip off that Taliban fighters were hiding out in the building.
Following a two-hour gun battle, the suspects were killed while the police suffered no casualties.
Karachi police have killed more than three dozen suspected militants in the last two months in line with an "arrest and shoot policy" without injury to a single police officer.
Some of Karachi's shanty towns are believed to be safe havens for Taliban militants fleeing military operations in North Waziristan.
