Police Officer Martyred In Mardin Laid To Rest In Adana

Mehmet Akif Hatunoğlu, one of the four police officers who fell martyred when mine, which was placed to a road by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists, was exploded while police vehicle passing by on the road in southeastern Turkish province of Mardin’s Dargeçit district, was laid to rest in Adana.

The funeral of the Hatunoğlu was taking from the Aşkım Tüfekçi State Hospital and brought his father’s home located in Sarıçam district and then transferred to the Buruk Cemetery. During the arrival of the funeral, relatives of the martyred officer showed their reaction to terrorist PKK organization.

Here our mother would cry! Said close relatives of Hatunoğlu. “If you are parliament member or prime minister, first, you sent your son to fight. Enough is enough. We got tired of. Sent Tayyip to there, noted relatives,” noted the relatives also while showing reaction.

After the funeral prayer, which thousands attended, Hatunoğlu was brought to the cemetery and buried there with prays.

The funeral was attended Adana Governor Mustafa Büyük, Gendarmerie Regional Commander Brigadier General Aytekin Şahin and parliament members Seyfettin Yılmaz, Zülfikar İnönü Tümer, Talip Küçükcan, Fatmagül Demet Sarı, Police Department Chief Cengiz Zeybek, relatives of the martyred police officers and local residents. In his bequest, which was taken from his pocket after he was killed, it was written by Hatunoğlu that read “I would like no government officials’ attendance to my burial ceremony”.
