Turkish police began legal action against a man in southern province of Samsun, for carrying a banner displaying the cartoon that was published in United States’ popular daily New York Times (NYT) few days ago.
Reportedly the police justified his action claiming that the cartoon is illegal because Turkish flag is being cut there.
Meanwhile, the cartoon was displaying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan behind Turkish traditional cuisine of Döner grilling machine and cutting the meat colored as Turkish flag and written democracy on it, with the knife. The cartoon is aiming to express the damage that was given to Turkish democracy.
