President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized in a phone call with Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah that Israel's decision to recognize Somaliland is one of the steps targeting regional stability.
According to a statement made by the Presidency of Communications, the meeting addressed not only the bilateral relations between Turkey and Kuwait but also regional and global developments.
"SOMALIA'S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY MUST BE PROTECTED"
President Erdoğan noted that Israel's attempts to increase instability in the region have intensified, stating that the decision to recognize Somaliland is part of these efforts. Erdoğan expressed that protecting Somalia's territorial integrity is of great importance.
President Erdoğan also mentioned that they are working to develop relations between Turkey and Kuwait in every field and that cooperation between the two countries will continue to increase.
The recent situation in Gaza was also discussed during the meeting. Erdoğan expressed their hope for the establishment of a permanent ceasefire and the initiation of the reconstruction process in Gaza, noting that cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait is crucial in this process.
