In his speech to the party group, Erdoğan began by saying, "The team that will bring Turkey safely to shore from this global storm, which is increasingly intensifying, is clear. The name of this team is the AK Party and the People's Alliance. Therefore, whatever we do, we will do it not for ourselves, but for all of Turkey." He continued, "We will do this to ensure that this nation is not left at the mercy of the incompetent who have not even been able to provide water to the capital Ankara for weeks while showering citizens with promises during election time. We will do this for the millions of our citizens who have been victimized by those who have turned municipalities into a source of their insatiable ambitions. We will do this to ensure that the carefree who enjoy themselves on tropical islands, while they have made municipal budgets unable to pay salaries, do not infest our cities again."
SEVCAN ORHAN HAD MADE A STATEMENT
Artist Sevcan Orhan, in a statement to Ali Eyüboğlu from Milliyet regarding the matter, said, "We shared the Phuket vacation among us. It was a vacation plan organized by a friend with a group of 20 people planned for the end of September, and we personally covered the travel and expenses. The invoices are available. The money was paid by us personally. In fact, we divided it this way; I paid the vacation fee from my own account, and Görkem personally covered the travel expenses." On the day the news of their Phuket vacation was published, Orhan stated that all worker salaries had been paid and the strike had ended, saying, "Thank God, I am in a good place financially. Not only have I not eaten the salaries of workers, but I have been working for 25 years, and I have not even touched my father's money since I was 17. It is very upsetting to claim that we have eaten something forbidden."
