Outgoing President Abdullah Gül stated on Tuesday evening that current Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu will probably be next prime minister of the country.
Speaking to the reporters during his farewell reception at Çankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara, Gül said commented on some main agenda topics such as convention of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party)’s convention which will take place on August 27, a day before end of his office.
“As far as it seems, our friend who will take over [prime ministry] will be Foreign Minister Ahmet Bey. It is me who canalized him to the politics and to the state life,” said Gül.
