Religious Complex Demolished In İstanbul

A religious complex called Mahmut Efendi Külliyesi was demolished upon the order of the authorities in İstanbul’s Beykoz district on Monday morning.

Construction vehicles along with riot police and TOMA vehicles arrived at the area the complex is located in the early hours of day. Police closed Çavuşbaşı Cumhuriyet Street to traffic. During the incident a TOMA vehicle rolled over which left two police officers slightly injured.

Officials from the complex argued with the police asked them show report of decision to demolish but police officers remained silent.
