Russian Authorities Say Terrorist Attack Culprit Will Be Named After Investigation Ends

26.03.2024 21:57

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refuses to comment on Daesh involvement in attack.

Russian authorities cannot make statements about connections of terrorists behind the attack on the Crocus City concert hall in Moscow region until the investigation is completed, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

Commenting on remarks that Daesh was behind the attack and this excludes Ukraine's involvement because its president is a Jew, Peskov said: "The Jew (who is heading Ukraine) is a peculiar Jew, who shows in many ways sympathy and attraction to the nationalist spirit."

Peskov refused to further comment on the allegations of Daesh involvement saying investigators will name the guilty part in due time.

"As for those who gloat over the terrible tragedy that you and I are going through, yes, there are such scum. Whether their remarks are slip of the tongue or not, they cannot be called in any other way.

"The investigation is ongoing. As of yesterday evening, the head of the Investigative Committee reported to the president (on the progress). And when the investigation deems it necessary, then versions will be made public," he noted.

Turning to plans of the UK authorities to change their approaches to nuclear containment, Peskov said: "In general, the position of the British leadership and all representatives of the British leadership is extremely anti-Russian. We must proceed from this, there are no innovations."

At least 139 people were killed and more than 180 injured March 22 when gunmen opened fire at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast.

The Investigative Committee said it detained 11 people, including four perpetrators, in the border region of Bryansk, who were on their way to Ukraine.

Moscow's Basmanny district court late Sunday charged the four perpetrators with terrorism and approved their pre-trial detentions until May 22. -
