Saudi Delegation İn Bahrain Following Qatar Visit

Bahraini King Hamad bin Essa held talks Wednesday with a high-level Saudi delegation, who arrived in the Gulf country from Qatar.



The talks took up the latest Arab and regional developments and bilateral relations, according to Bahrain's official news agency.



The delegation – which includes Foreign Minister Saudi al-Faisal, intelligence chief Khalid bin Bandar and Interior Minister Mohamed bin Nayef – arrived in Manama earlier Wednesday from Qatar.



The visit comes days before a scheduled ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Jeddah on Saturday amid speculation that participants will discuss a diplomatic crisis between Qatar and both Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.



In March, the three countries collectively withdrew their ambassadors from Doha in March, claiming that Qatar had violated a 2013 joint security pact and interfered in their domestic affairs.



Many observers, however, linked the ambassadors' withdrawal to Doha's support for ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi and the latter's embattled Muslim Brotherhood group.
