Sebastian Vettel Wins First Race As Ferrari Driver At Malaysian Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel has won his first race in a Ferrari at the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday. Drivers' championship Lewis Hamilton had to settle for second.

Sebastian Vettel has won his first Grand Prix with his new team, Ferrari, at the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday. It was his fourth career F1 win at the Malaysian track.



Vettel came in first ahead in Sepang, ahead of Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, in second and third, respectively.



The win takes Vettel to second in the drivers' championship after two races, behind Hamilton. More importantly, perhaps, it is the first win for the famous Italian F1 team in nearly two years.



Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene was heard to say "Ferrari is back, Ferrari is back" over the team radio after Vettel crossed the line.



For Vettel himself it is a return to form too, and he was briefly in tears after the race. His last race victory came in Abu Dhabi at the end of 2013.



"It's been a long time since I stood at the top of a podium," he said after the race.



Further back in the field, there were also celebrations for Max Verstappen as well. The 17-year-old finished in seventh, becoming the youngest points-scorer in F1 history.
