As none of the seven candidates got more than 50 percent of the votes last week, around 177,000 citizens went to polling stations for the second time to elect new president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) on Sunday.
Incumbent President Derviş Eroğlu and independent candidate run in the second round of the election. The elected candidate will take the officer for the next five years.
The election board is expected to announce the result between 7: 30-8 p.m. and the voting will last until 6 p.m.
