Security Forces Detain Many In Operation Against DHKP-C In İstanbul

Units from counterterrorism conducted dawn operation on Thursday against the far-left terrorist Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), detaining many in İstanbul.

Police step up operations against the DHKP-C following two DHKP-C militants took prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz in İstanbul Courthouse on Tuesday and raided numerous points in Okmeydanı neighborhood. Apart from counterterrorism unit, special operations team and riot police assisted the large-scale operation.

The operation is still ongoing and police detained many people in some houses and associations which have link with the outlawed group.
