Riot police and gendarmerie forces prevented a crowded group of Kurdish people with water cannons and tear gas from illegally crossing the Turkish-Syrian border in eastern Şanlıurfa province's Suruç district on Sunday.
As a crowded group consist of Kurdish citizens ignored the police announces calling them not to go close to the borderline and not to pass the border illegally and kept attacking security forces by throwing stones, riot police intervened the group with water cannons and tear gas to disperse them. After taking the control, Police and Turkish Armed forces increased the security precautions at the border region of Suruç.
Meanwhile, as Turkey opened its borders, the number of refugees who fled the Syria to escape ISIL threat, reached at least 80.000, official sources report.
