A total of seven workers were injured when suspended ceiling during maintenance works at a factory in the western province of İzmir on Thursday.
Reportedly, seven workers who were on a suspended ceiling above four meters, fell onto ground when it was collapsed while they were doing maintenance works at a factory.
Ambulances were dispatched to the scene after the incident. Workers were taken to hospital for treatment. Gendarmerie launched an investigation into the incident. Workplace accidents are widespread in Turkey. Regarding the number of deaths in job accidents, Turkey comes first in Europe. In the past 12 years, 12,686 people died in work accidents. An average of 4 workers die from work related accidents every day in Turkey.
