During the searches conducted in the house, a large number of machetes, pickaxes, shovels, and knives were also discovered.

In a statement made by the Guanajuato State Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that an investigation into the missing persons is ongoing while an examination was conducted in an abandoned house in the city of Irapuato.
The statement indicated that during searches conducted using ground-penetrating radar and cadaver search dogs in the city of Irapuato, 17 bodies, along with knives, pickaxes, and shovels, were found in an abandoned house believed to have been used by cartels. The prosecutor's office reported that 5 of the bodies belong to missing persons.

Last year, 3,151 murder cases were recorded in Guanajuato state, which is noted to be the highest number among the states in Mexico and corresponds to 10% of the cases nationwide.
