The statements of two women who stabbed and killed Özge Bedir next to her 36-day-old baby in Burdur have emerged. One of the suspects stated that the victim had called her to the house to talk, and when she was attacked with a knife, she defended herself. Additionally, it was claimed that one of the suspect women had a romantic relationship with Bedir's husband last year.
A brutal incident occurred yesterday around 21:00 in a site located in the Bağlar neighborhood of Burdur. T.A. (22), who came to the house of Özge Bedir (32), a mother of two children, one of whom is 36 days old, called the 112 Emergency Call Center after a while and reported a murder.
KILLED NEXT TO HER 36-DAY-OLD BABY
Police, health, and fire teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams that opened the door and entered the house found Özge Bedir stabbed in the throat and abdomen in the corridor. It was determined by the health team that Özge Bedir had lost her life. The police took her 36-day-old baby, who was sleeping in Özge Bedir's bed, under protection; it was learned that her other 5-year-old child was not at home.
After making the report, T.A. fled the scene with his friend S.Ö. (25), a third-year student in the Department of Classroom Teaching at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The police launched an operation to capture T.A.
HUSBAND ASKED "WHERE IS ÖZGE?" AND FAINTED
While the police were investigating the house, Özge Bedir's husband A.B. arrived at the scene. A.B. asked his relatives, "Where is Özge?" and when he learned that she had died, he burst into tears. A.B., who was kept waiting in the police car, was taken to the hospital after fainting.
SUSPECTED WOMEN CAPTURED
The police captured T.A. and S.Ö. in the house where they were staying in Yeni Mahalle. T.A., who was injured by a knife in both hands, was taken to the police station after treatment. Based on the statements of T.A. and S.Ö., A.B., who completed her treatment in the hospital, and café operator V.Ö. were also detained.
STATEMENTS REVEALED
In his first statement at the police station, suspect T.A. stated that Özge Bedir had called him to the house to talk. T.A. claimed that while they were talking, Özge Bedir insulted him and attacked him with a knife she took from the kitchen, and he defended himself in an attempt to protect himself. S.Ö. also stated that he did not enter the house and was waiting for T.A. in the garden of the site.
ALLEGATION OF "ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP"
On the other hand, it was alleged that there was a romantic relationship between S.Ö., who worked at the military canteen, and Özge Bedir's husband A.B. last year.
THEY HAVE BEEN IN A LAWSUIT WITH THE VICTIM'S HUSBAND
It was noted that later S.Ö. filed a complaint against A.B. along with his friend T.A., and as a result of the lawsuit, A.B. was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison for "deprivation of liberty" for forcing S.Ö. and T.A. into a car. It was learned that A.B. was released after staying in prison for a while.
