Due to the storm expected in Istanbul tomorrow, consecutive warnings have been issued. AKOM and İGDAŞ urged citizens to take precautions against strong winds and adverse weather conditions.

Warnings have been issued one after another due to the storm expected to be effective in Istanbul tomorrow. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) and İGDAŞ informed citizens to take precautions against adverse weather conditions.

WIND SPEED MAY REACH 80-100 KM/H

After the snow and extreme cold on the first day of the new year, a southwesterly storm is expected this time due to rapidly rising temperatures.

In a statement from AKOM, it was noted that the wind would increase in intensity starting from noon tomorrow. Authorities warned that it could lead to roof blow-offs, tree and pole falls, and disruptions in maritime transportation. While the wind is expected to blow at a speed of 80-100 kilometers per hour, it was also pointed out that carbon monoxide poisoning could occur.

İGDAŞ'S NATURAL GAS WARNING

İGDAŞ warned natural gas users due to the storm expected in Istanbul on January 3-4. The statement reminded that devices such as flued boilers, water heaters, and stoves should be used safely, ventilation openings should be kept open, and it is advised not to sleep in rooms where these devices are located.

CALL FOR PRECAUTIONS TO CITIZENS

AKOM officials urged those living in high-rise buildings, coastal areas, and open spaces to be cautious. It was emphasized that the storm could negatively affect daily life, and extra precautions should be taken while driving and being outdoors.
