The President of the Supreme Court, Ömer Kerkez, issued a message on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day. Kerkez stated that August 30 is not only a military victory but also the unshakable triumph of the will of the nation, laying the foundations of the principles of the rule of law and our democratic Republic. He also expressed the need to carry this sacred homeland, entrusted to us by our ancestors, into the future with the same determination based on the power of justice and the supremacy of law.

In his message, Kerkez stated, "We proudly celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the August 30 Victory, one of the most important epics written by the Turkish nation on the path to independence. I commemorate with mercy our esteemed martyrs, who made these lands our homeland, especially the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades-in-arms, with gratitude and appreciation," he said.



MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTS OF THE HIGHER COURTS ON AUGUST 30



Constitutional Court (AYM) President Kadir Özkaya also included the following statements in his message:



"August 30, the crown of victory of the War of Independence, is the sacred day that certifies that our beloved homeland has been eternally made a homeland for our nation. On August 30, 1922, our noble nation, whose heart is filled with love for the homeland and whose history is full of victories, overcame all kinds of difficulties and impossibilities with the epic struggle it gave on the path to independence; it declared its commitment to independence and freedom to the whole world by embodying the spirit of national unity and solidarity.



This epic, written together by our glorious army and our nation under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is today the most valuable legacy that forms the foundation of our democratic rule of law. As the Constitutional Court, we will continue our work in the light of the principle of the rule of law with the awareness of the responsibility entrusted to us by this blessed victory and the inspiration we draw from our glorious history.



On the 103rd anniversary of the Great Victory, which we proudly celebrate, I remember with mercy and gratitude Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the architects of the path to independence, our esteemed martyrs, and all our heroes. Today, I also wish mercy for our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our country, and health and well-being for our veterans. Happy August 30 Victory Day."



COUNCIL OF STATE PRESIDENT YİĞİT: ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TURNING POINTS



Council of State President Zeki Yiğit also noted the following in his message:



"In the national struggle process we undertook after the First World War; despite all the difficulties and impossibilities faced by our esteemed nation, the glorious victory won at the August 30 Commander-in-Chief Battle has become one of the most important turning points on the road to the establishment of the new Republic of Turkey, with great faith, determination, and resolve to maintain its independence and protect its future and sacred values.



The liberation struggle initiated by our nation against imperialist powers under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was crowned with a definitive and permanent victory on August 30, 1922, in Dumlupınar, and it was once again declared to the whole world that these lands, watered by the blood of our martyrs, are the eternal homeland of the Turks.



On the 103rd anniversary of the Great Victory, won with the spirit of national unity, solidarity, and cooperation of our noble nation, I commemorate with mercy Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander of the Great Offensive, and his comrades-in-arms, our esteemed martyrs, and I express my gratitude and appreciation to all our living veterans; I celebrate the August 30 Victory Day of our esteemed nation."

Supreme Court Chief Prosecutor Muhsin Şentürk also stated, "We take pride in having passed the 103rd year of the War of Independence, which is a rare example of determination and will in history. I celebrate August 30 Victory Day, which is the historical proof that the spirit of independence of our nation is manifested and that the land of the homeland cannot be divided, and I commemorate with mercy and gratitude our esteemed martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, who made these lands our homeland," he expressed.
