The radical leftist Syriza party, which won general election in Greece on Sunday, formed an anti-austerity governing coalition with the right-wing party Greek Independents.
The coalition will have a comfortable majority in Greece's new parliament. With most of the votes counted, Syriza won 149 seats, just short of an overall majority while the Independent Greeks won 13 seats. Following a meeting between Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras and Greek Independent leader Panos Kammenos, it was settled that the Greek Independents will give a vote of confidence in Tsipras.
Kammenos stated that they will announce members of the new government and the new government is expected to take the office following an inauguration during the day.
