Ten people have been killed in armed attacks carried out by the Taliban in the city of Kandahar and Farah town in Afghanistan, officials have said.
Four police officers died in an assault on a police station in Kandahar on Wednesday.
Three other police officers also went missing after Taliban militants assaulted the police station in Ghorak province, the Kandahar governorship said in a statement.
The governorship said that it did not know whether the missing policemen had fled from the area or been captured by Taliban.
An investigation had been launched, it added.
Drug fields
A police officer had helped the Taliban to perform the attack, a Kandahar Police Department officer said.
Meanwhile in Farah town, two civilians were killed by a remote-controlled bomb in the Pusht Rod District.
And in the Maiwand province of Kandahar, four officers were killed in a Taliban attack amid a campaign to destroy drug fields.
The Taliban is known to receive large amounts of money through drug production in areas under its control.
