A terrible accident occurred in Antalya's Konyaaltı district. The car driven by Burak K. crashed into a tree in front of the amusement park on Atatürk Boulevard in Pınarbaşı Neighborhood last night, swerving to hit the car driven by Mehmet Ç, who was waiting by the roadside, and Arda Öztürk (23), who was standing on the sidewalk to get into the same vehicle.
23-YEAR-OLD ARDA LOST HIS LIFE
In the accident, Arda Öztürk and the two drivers of the vehicles, along with Utku E. in the car driven by Burak K, were injured.
The injured were taken to Antalya Training and Research Hospital, where Öztürk could not be saved. Arda Öztürk's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution morgue for autopsy.
HE WAS WORKING AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK
It was learned that Arda Öztürk, a final-year student at Alanya University, was working at the amusement park and that his stepfather Mehmet Ç came to pick him up after work, and the accident occurred just as he was about to get into the car.
THE FUNERAL WAS DELIVERED TO THE FAMILY
Öztürk's funeral was delivered to his relatives after the autopsy procedures were completed.
Here, his mother Dilek Ç., along with his stepfather Mehmet Ç, who had completed his treatment at the hospital and came to the forensic medicine, and relatives experienced sorrow. The funeral was sent to Burdur for burial. Öztürk's uncle Murat Ayan told reporters in front of the Forensic Medicine Institution that they were saddened by the loss of their nephew in a tragic accident.
HE DONATED HIS CORNEAS
Ayan stated that they wanted to donate the organs of his deceased nephew, but it was not possible because brain death had occurred, saying, "We donated our child's corneas. I want everyone to be sensitive about this issue. A short time ago, in the same place, a father and son lost their lives in a similar accident. We request that the authorities pay attention to this matter. We want the person responsible for the accident to be punished as severely as possible."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Meanwhile, on July 11, a pedestrian, Yunus Tekerci, and his 8-year-old son, Adem Efe Tekerci, were hit by a car that lost control while walking on the sidewalk after leaving the amusement park in the same place. In the accident, both the father and son lost their lives.
The university where the student was studying published a condolence message.
