An incident on a passenger plane taking off from Vietnam to Thailand caused terrifying moments for the passengers. A Russian national experienced a nervous breakdown during the flight, stripped down to his underwear, began shouting in the cabin, and threatened to jump out of the plane.
In footage recorded by another passenger, the man is seen wandering around the cabin in only black underwear. The passenger, who suddenly got up from his seat, reacted by shouting at the flight attendants as he walked towards the back of the plane. The footage clearly captures him shouting, "Don't touch me."
The increasingly angry passenger then demanded that the cabin crew open the plane's door. The man, shouting "Open, open the door," later used profanity to instruct the flight attendants to open the exit door. After a while, he yelled in Russian, "Do they want to leave us here to die?"
The passenger turned to the entire cabin and said he would jump out of the plane. Due to the chaos, the AirAsia flight from Vietnam to Thailand had to make an emergency landing in Bangkok for safety reasons.
However, the events did not end with the landing. Even after the plane touched down, the uncontrollable passenger forced the door open. While the safety stairs used for passenger disembarkation had not yet been placed, the man managed to open the door and jumped onto the runway from the plane.
During this dangerous leap, made in only his underwear, the passenger injured his leg and was soon apprehended by Thai police who arrived at the scene.
Russian media reported that the man exhibited "strange and erratic behavior" after the plane took off. According to the news site Readovka, the passenger had lost control to the extent of inviting the flight attendants to a fistfight.
Some passengers on the plane recounted that before the incident, the man had met another man on the flight and subsequently became increasingly agitated. One passenger said, "He kept going to the bathroom, he was very tense." The same person added, "He argued with a flight attendant and said he needed to get off the plane. We tried to calm him down, but he started shouting and causing a fight."
Witnesses stated that by the end of the events, the man had completely lost control, running around the cabin in his underwear and trying to get off the plane.
It was reported that the plane was scheduled to land at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. It was expressed that a statement from AirAsia officials regarding the matter is expected.
