The attacker E.D., who was arrested for punching D.E. in front of his children on the Marmaray, stated in his prosecutor's testimony, "About 1.5 years ago, I was intubated due to a lung collapse. Because of this, I started to experience shortness of breath. In the excitement I felt, I suddenly hit the complainant. After that, I got off the train because I arrived at my stop. I regret the incident. I have no criminal record up to this day."

In an incident that occurred yesterday in Maltepe, D. E., a father who was attacked while with his children on the Marmaray, had the attacker E.D. detained after filing a complaint against him for punching him. E.D. was referred to the Peace Criminal Court with a request for arrest for the crime of 'Intentional Injury' and was arrested by the court he was brought before.

"I SAW THE GIRL HE HUMILIATED CRYING"

The attacker's statement to the prosecutor has emerged. In his statement, E.D. said, "I boarded the Marmaray train at Yenikapı station. When I arrived at Bostancı station, the complainant boarded the train. At that moment, he started to insult a girl aged 18-20 who was standing at the door. At first, I did not get involved in the incident, but when the train approached my stop, Küçükyalı, I saw the complainant shouting and the girl he humiliated crying as I headed towards the door. I then turned to the complainant and said, 'Did you do that? You broke a young girl's heart; what was the need for all this complaining? Was it nice?' The complainant replied, 'He deserves it; I did less than he deserved.' He told me, 'Who are you? Stay out of it; I can say what I want, and I can do what I want.'

I tried to explain that people were standing at every door and that the girl was not at fault. A verbal argument started between us. We arrived at the station. At that moment, a young friend in a blue shirt inside the train started to shout at the complainant in the same way and began to attack him. About 1.5 years ago, I had been intubated due to a lung collapse. Because of this, I started to have shortness of breath. In a moment of excitement, I suddenly hit the complainant. After that, I got off the train as I had arrived at my stop. I regret the incident. I have no criminal record until today. It happened in a moment of excitement. I hit the person once," he said.

E.D. was arrested by the Istanbul Anadolu 9th Peace Criminal Court and sent to prison.
