The Efeler Municipality, which has been struggling with financial difficulties for the past year, announced that it will not be able to pay staff salaries. In a statement from the municipality, it was claimed that the inability to pay staff salaries is due to the unpaid social security debts of the previous Efeler Mayor, Fatih Atay. Municipal employees are expecting the municipality's management to keep the promises made to them.

Employees of the Efeler Municipality in Aydın began to experience difficult days following the local elections on March 31.

ONLY A PART OF THE PERSONNEL SALARIES WILL BE PAID

While it is expected that the issues regarding salaries will be resolved in April, the Efeler Municipality announced that it may only be able to pay a part of the personnel salaries in April. Municipal employees stated that the municipality management, which took over with the promise of 'better days', has caused them grievances for a year and demanded that the promises made be kept.

"130 MILLION TL OF SGK PREMIUM DEBT HAS BEEN DEDUCTED"

Stating that it made a statement to transparently share the financial situation of the municipality and the consequences of this situation with the public, Efeler Municipality noted that despite the municipality's debt to SGK, 130 million TL of SGK premium debt has been deducted by the İller Bankası in the last 4 months.

"THEY BLAMED THE PREVIOUS MAYOR ATAY FOR THE FAULT"

The statement, which claimed that the inability to pay personnel salaries was due to the unpaid SGK debts of the previous Efeler Mayor Fatih Atay, did not satisfy the municipal employees. The statement also claimed that it was unfair for the municipality's debts to be deducted from the İller Bankası allocations, stating, "As a municipality, we are mobilizing all our resources and fighting with all our strength to protect the hard work and efforts of our employees," and it was mentioned that a loan application was made to the İller Bankası to ensure the payment of municipal employees' salaries.

In the local elections on March 31, Anıl Yetişkin from the CHP, who received 42.11% of the votes, was elected as the Mayor of Efeler.
