A chilling detail has emerged regarding the murder of retired geological engineer Tekin Atılgan, whose lifeless body was found inside a freezer in Aksaray. Atılgan's lawyer stated, "On the day of the incident, the suspect forcibly carried out a loan withdrawal with his weapon. Tekin Atılgan took out a total of 750,000 TL in loans from three banks. That money was first transferred to the killer's account and then to the factory's account."

Relatives of Tekin Atılgan (54), who got married twice and divorced in Aksaray and is a father of two children, reported him missing to the police on August 26 after not hearing from him since August 20. The teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch, which initiated an investigation, found Atılgan's car abandoned in the hospital parking lot without a license plate. The police, deepening their investigation, also examined the security camera footage from the ice cream factory where Atılgan worked as a salesman and its surroundings. The investigation revealed that a vehicle leaving the ice cream factory on the day Atılgan went missing was headed towards the Altunhisar district of Niğde.
DEAD BODY FOUND IN ICE CREAM FREEZER
Focusing their investigation in this area, the police noticed a black-painted ice cream freezer belonging to the factory by the roadside near Altunhisar on August 28. When the police opened the freezer, they encountered the lifeless body of Tekin Atılgan. The police determined that the person who used the vehicle that carried Atılgan's body was the factory manager, Yaşar Can Kahya (29), and apprehended him in Kayseri on August 29.
"THE GUN FIRED WHILE STRUGGLING"
In his statement, Yaşar Can Kahya said that Tekin Atılgan started working at the factory two years ago, and on August 19, he had a dispute with the head of the accounting department over an invoice, after which Atılgan voluntarily left his job. Kahya noted that the day after Atılgan left, he came to the workplace in the evening with bottles of alcohol in a bag. "Tekin drank from two 35-liter bottles of alcohol. I also had a glass. During this time, we talked about the problems at work, but he said he wouldn't return to work. When I told him we needed to leave for our homes around 11:00 PM, Tekin pointed a gun at me and told me to enter the cold storage. When we entered the cold storage, I tried to take the gun from him. A struggle ensued between us. The gun in Tekin's hand fired twice, but I didn't see where those shots went. While we were struggling, we both collapsed to the ground. The gun fired again 2-3 times from Tekin's hand. During the struggle, I kicked Tekin's arm, causing the gun to fall to the ground. At that moment, I saw blood flowing from Tekin's body. I realized that the person was dying while struggling," he said.
HIDING THE BODY WITH ICE CREAMS
Kahya explained that he wrapped Tekin Atılgan's body in a tarpaulin, carried it with a chair, and placed it inside the ice cream freezer. "To avoid drawing attention, I placed ice creams from the other freezers on top. Then I plugged in the freezer and set it up. I put the gun in a steel safe. I took Tekin's bag, the bottles, and the car keys and left the workplace. I left the workplace with Tekin's car. I threw the bag and bottles somewhere on the way. I went home, and my child and wife were sleeping. First, I took a shower and threw my blood-stained clothes in the trash at home. I stayed awake until morning. In the early morning, I took the trash from the house and threw it in the trash on the Adana road."
CALLED 3 APPRENTICES TO LOAD THE BODY INTO THE VEHICLE
Kahya then stated that he went back to the workplace, told the accountant that the distributors could leave early after they left the factory, went to the bank, withdrew 200,000 TL that Tekin Atılgan had borrowed and sent to his account, and deposited it into the workplace's bank account. After returning from the bank, Kahya confessed that he loaded the ice cream freezer containing Tekin Atılgan's body into a factory vehicle with the help of three apprentices working at the opposite workplace and disposed of it near the Altunhisar district. Kahya also mentioned that he abandoned Atılgan's car in the hospital parking lot and left by taxi. Yaşar Can Kahya was arrested by the court he was brought before.
16 BULLETS HIT HIS BODY
Kerim Bahadır Şeker, the lawyer for the family of the murdered Tekin Atılgan, stated that the autopsy revealed that 16 bullets had hit Tekin Atılgan's body. Lawyer Kerim Bahadır Şeker noted that on the day of the incident, a total of 300,000 TL and 350,000 TL were withdrawn as loans from two banks through mobile transactions from Tekin Atılgan's bank accounts, and they obtained the documents for this, and that a loan of 100,000 TL was also taken from another bank, and they requested the documents for that from the relevant bank.
"750,000 TL LOAN TAKEN FROM 3 DIFFERENT BANKS"
Lawyer Şeker stated: "The suspect, the factory manager of the ice cream factory operating in Aksaray, calls my client Tekin Atılgan, who works as a worker, to his factory. According to the bank records we later learned; a total of 750,000 TL was withdrawn from 3 banks. He attempted to burn Tekin Atılgan's body using the ice cream factory's minibus on the Niğde road. The autopsy report of Atılgan shows that there are 16 bullet wounds. 16 bullets mean that it was committed with brutal and monstrous intent, and two magazines were emptied on him."
"THE CAMERA WAS ALLEGEDLY MALFUNCTIONING"
Şeker claimed that Yaşar Can Kahya deleted the camera recordings from the time of the incident, stating, "The police could not find the security camera footage from the time of the incident. It was claimed that the camera was malfunctioning. However, the police determined that he had broken the cameras and thrown them in the trash. In the crime scene footage from the opposite workplace, it was determined that he threw away broken chairs and bloody clothes. He first placed Atılgan behind the deep freezer, stacked returned ice creams on top of him, and then called 3 workers to carry Tekin. The workers asked, 'Why is this so heavy?' After circulating in Aksaray for a certain period, he attempted to burn it near Niğde, 40-45 kilometers away from Aksaray. The teams from the Aksaray Provincial Police Department's Homicide Bureau conducted a very serious and detailed investigation, and they have now presented all the necessary details in the file for this suspect to be convicted of premeditated murder with monstrous intent and to receive aggravated life imprisonment. The deleted camera footage can be recovered," he said.
"FIRST 'I HAVE NO ENMITY,' THEN 'I DO'"
Şeker stated, "In his statement, the suspect initially said, 'I had no enmity,' but in later statements, he said, 'I had enmity.' It is evident that it was premeditated. That day, he told his coworkers, 'Today the shift will end early,' and sent everyone home. Then, he forcibly carried out the loan withdrawal process with his gun. Tekin Atılgan withdrew a total of 750,000 TL in loans from 3 banks. That money was first transferred to the killer's account and then to the factory's account," he said.
