A 20-year-old woman was found dead hanging from a tree near her home in Ordu. While her husband was arrested on charges of "torture against a spouse," her mother-in-law was released under judicial control on charges of "torture and mistreatment of her daughter-in-law."
On May 11, Mother's Day, a heartbreaking incident occurred in the Aşıklar neighborhood of the Çaybaşı district in Ordu. The lifeless body of 20-year-old Arzu A. was found hanging from a tree near her home. Following the suspicious death, a detailed investigation was initiated by the Ünye Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, with thorough examinations conducted at the scene and in the house.
HUSBAND AND MOTHER-IN-LAW DETAINED
Investigations revealed details that the young woman's husband, C.A., had "physically and psychologically abused and tortured" her, and that her mother-in-law, K.A., had also mistreated her daughter-in-law. As a result, C.A. and K.A. were detained.
HUSBAND ARRESTED FOR "TORTURE" CHARGE
After processing in custody, husband C. and mother K. were referred to the Ünye Courthouse. Following their interrogation by the prosecutor's office, C.A. was brought before the peace criminal court and was arrested for the charge of "torture against a spouse" and sent to prison. The mother-in-law was released under judicial control for the charges of "torture and mistreatment against her daughter-in-law." It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
