Yasemin Tengioğlu, the daughter of Selçuk Tengioğlu who attacked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, called the CHP to leave a message to be conveyed to Özel. When asked, "What do you feel when you hear the name Selçuk Tengioğlu?" she responded, "Hatred! When we hear this name, we pray for his death. To be honest, we have no human feelings towards a criminal."
The chairman of the CHP, Özgür Özel, was arrested and sent to prison by the court after Selçuk Tengioğlu attacked him in front of the AKM during the funeral ceremony held for the Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder.

Tengioğlu's daughter, Yasemin Tengioğlu, made striking statements to journalist İsmail Saymaz. In a message left for Özgür Özel after calling the CHP, Yasemin Tengioğlu stated, "I am the daughter of the person who attacked Özgür Bey. I am the girl who jumped from the balcony because I was attacked in 2004. I have no safety because of that man who is my father. We were keeping our location secret. I am very sad. I can't find the words. I live in a small town and I am very scared."

Yasemin Tengioğlu, who stated that she does not use social media and has hidden her address because she is afraid of her father, who killed her two children, responded to the question, "What does the name Selçuk Tengioğlu make you feel?" with, "Hatred! When we hear this name, we pray for his death. To be honest, we have no human feelings towards a murderer."
"HE DID NOT SERVE 16 YEARS, BUT 12 YEARS"
Yasemin Tengioğlu stated that the news claiming Tengioğlu was released from prison in 2020 after committing murders in 2004 does not reflect the truth, saying, "We only knew that he was released from prison. He reached us by phone when he was released. That was 10 years ago... The news said, 'He served 16 years.' He did not serve 16 years. He served 12 years."
