The spokesperson for the European Commission's External Relations, Anouar El Anouni, announced that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has invited Syrian Foreign Minister Hasan Sheybani to Brussels.
The European Union (EU) Commission's Spokesperson for External Relations, Anouar El Anouni, reported that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has invited Syrian Foreign Minister Esad Hasan Sheybani to Brussels.
"SHARA MAY BE EXEMPT FROM SANCTIONS"
El Anouni, in response to a question regarding French President Emmanuel Macron's invitation to Syrian President Ahmed Shara to Paris, stated during the EU Commission's daily press briefing that Shara is currently banned from traveling to EU countries due to being on the United Nations (UN) and thus the EU's sanctions list, but this rule could be waived if requested by a member state or individual.
INVITED TO BRUSSELS
In response to a question, El Anouni revealed that EU High Representative Kallas invited Syrian Foreign Minister Sheybani to Brussels during her visit to Riyadh. The spokesperson did not provide details regarding the invitation or any potential visit.
