After the warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, snowfall began in Istanbul. Due to the sticky snow that affected many districts of the megacity, a layer of snow formed on green areas and vehicles.
After the meteorological warnings, the temperature dropped in the megacity, and the rainy weather that was effective in the evening turned into snow in some areas.
WHITE COVER IN THE MEGACITY
In the European side, especially in the high areas, snowfall showed its effect. A thin layer of snow formed on vehicles in Sultangazi.
In Başakşehir, Arnavutköy, and Beylikdüzü, a white snow cover began to form in green areas due to the snowfall, which occasionally increased in intensity.
Snowfall is also effective in the regions of Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece, Avcılar, Esenyurt, and Silivri. In the Taksim area of Beyoğlu, one of the city's important tourist centers, mixed rain and snow were also effective.
SOME EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTIES, OTHERS GRABBED THEIR PHONES
Due to the snowfall, some citizens experienced short-term difficulties, while others recorded those moments with their mobile phones.
MIXED RAIN AND SNOW ON THE ASIAN SIDE
On the Asian side, mixed rain and snow are effective in the regions of Çekmeköy, Beykoz, Kartal, and Ümraniye.
