With the announcement published in the Official Gazette, changes have been made to the co-payment fees applicable to health services. Following the reaction to the fees that were changed last month for the first time in years, discounts have been applied to certain health practices.

Due to the examination of physicians and dentists conducted in healthcare providers, the participation fee amounts were changed a month ago, an addition was made for coordination, and the change was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, "Until the completion of the studies carried out by the Ministry of Health for the integration of all healthcare levels and the provision of healthcare services in coordination to increase the effectiveness of the referral chain between healthcare levels; the participation fee applied for the examination of physicians and dentists in secondary and tertiary healthcare providers, excluding private healthcare providers, will be considered as if referred from the primary level and will be collected at a reduced rate of 50%," it was stated.
PARTICIPATION FEE AMOUNTS REDEFINED
With the change made in the Health Implementation Communiqué of the Social Security Institution (SGK), the participation fee amounts to be applied for the examination of physicians and dentists conducted in healthcare providers have been redefined.
- Accordingly; No participation fee will be charged for the examination of physicians and dentists conducted in primary healthcare providers.
- 20 TL in secondary public healthcare providers.
- 20 TL in training and research hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health and in the neighborhood polyclinics connected to these hospitals.
- 20 TL in hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health classified as tertiary hospitals.
- 20 TL in state/private university hospitals with dental faculties.
- 20 TL in health application and research centers of state universities with medical faculties.
- 20 TL in health application and research centers of foundation universities with medical faculties.
- A participation fee of 50 TL will be charged in secondary and tertiary private healthcare providers.
Additionally, the participation fee to be applied for the examination of physicians and dentists referred to healthcare providers by family physicians who have signed contracts, been assigned, or authorized by the Ministry of Health will be collected at a reduced rate of 50%.
Until the completion of the studies carried out by the Ministry of Health for the integration of all healthcare levels and the provision of healthcare services in coordination to increase the effectiveness of the referral chain between healthcare levels; the participation fee applied for the examination of physicians and dentists in secondary and tertiary healthcare providers, excluding private healthcare providers, will be considered as if referred from the primary level and will be collected at a reduced rate of 50%. This Communiqué will come into effect from tonight, valid as of January 15, 2025, and the provisions of the Communiqué will be executed by the President of the Social Security Institution.
