The remains of our 20 heroic soldiers who were martyred in the military cargo plane crash at the Azerbaijan-Georgia border are being taken to the ceremony area at Mürted Air Base Command. After the ceremony here, the bodies of the martyrs will be sent to their hometowns for their final farewell. The heroes will be laid to rest in their hometowns with ceremonies held today.

The heart of Turkey was struck by the bad news coming from Georgia. As a result of the crash of a C130 military cargo plane returning from Azerbaijan at the Georgian border, 20 of our soldiers became martyrs. The plane carrying the remains of the 20 martyrs has arrived in Turkey.
A CEREMONY WILL BE HELD FOR OUR MARTYRS
The remains of the martyrs were taken from the Forensic Medicine Institution after examinations and were transported to Mürted Air Base for a military ceremony scheduled to take place at 09:00, accompanied by a convoy. It is expected that the families of the martyrs, as well as politicians and the command hierarchy of the Turkish Armed Forces, will attend the ceremony.
The martyr funerals will be sent to their hometowns to be bid farewell for their final journey after the ceremony here.
19 of the martyr soldiers will be buried today in ceremonies held in their hometowns. Only the funeral of Martyr Air Pilot Major Gökhan Korkmaz will be held in Istanbul on Saturday.
THE FIRST CEREMONY AT MÜRTED AIR BASE
The forensic procedures for the remains of the martyr soldiers have been completed. The remains of the martyrs have been dispatched to the military ceremony area to be held at Mürted Air Base.
TRANSPORTED TO THE FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTION
The martyr funerals taken into the funeral vehicles were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution located in Keçiören, accompanied by a convoy. After approximately a 40-minute journey, the convoy carrying the martyr funerals arrived at the Forensic Medicine Institution.
Hundreds of people welcomed the convoy in front of the Forensic Medicine Institution with Turkish flags in their hands.

The plane carrying the remains of 20 martyrs has arrived in Turkey. The Koca Yusuf A400M aircraft, which took off from Tbilisi's Shota Rustaveli International Airport, landed at Mürted Airport in Ankara.
