The Imralı Delegation, which met with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, reported that Öcalan called on the PKK to lay down their arms and dissolve itself. ÖCALAN CALLED FOR DISARMAMENT
The DEM Party delegation met for the third time with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on Imralı Island. The third meeting at the Imralı F-Type High Security Closed Prison included Pervin Buldan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and Ahmet Türk, as well as DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, DEM Party Member of Parliament Cengiz Çiçek, and Asrın Law Office lawyer Faik Özgür Erol. Upon returning to Istanbul, the delegation conveyed Öcalan's call for disarmament at a hotel in Taksim.
"PKK MUST DISSOLVE ITSELF"
Öcalan stated, "I am calling for disarmament and I take on the historical responsibility of this call. Just as every contemporary society and party that has not been forcibly ended will voluntarily do, gather your congress to integrate with the state and society, and make a decision; all groups must lay down their arms, and the PKK must dissolve itself."
SALIH MUSLIM: WE AGREE WITH ÖCALAN'S STATEMENT
Salih Muslim, the head of the PYD, the Syrian branch of the PKK, stated that they agree with Öcalan's statement. In a statement to Al Arabiya, Muslim said, "We will act in accordance with the decision that the PKK will make, and if necessary, we will lay down our arms."
