Businessman Turgay Ciner, who has an arrest warrant issued against him as part of the Can Holding investigation, has been included in the betting investigation. An arrest warrant was also issued for Turgay Ciner, the owner of Kasımpaşa Sports Club, during an operation conducted this morning. An arrest warrant was issued because Turgay Ciner is currently abroad.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued detention orders for 21 suspects, including 17 referees and 1 sports club president, in the investigation related to betting allegations.
18 PEOPLE DETAINED
While 17 referees were detained, the president of Eyüpspor, a Süper Lig club, Murat Özkaya, was also taken into custody. A detention order was issued for Mehmet Fatih Saraç, the former president of Kasımpaşa Sports Club.
TURGAY CİNER IS A FUGITIVE
It was reported that two individuals, including businessman Turgay Ciner, who is the owner of Kasımpaşa Club and for whom an arrest warrant was issued as part of the Can Holding investigation, are abroad, and one referee could not be found at his address.
HERE ARE THE ALLEGATIONS
The investigation involves referees A.K.K., A.T., B.K., B.T., B.E.A., C.B., E.A., M.Y., M.Ö., N.O., N.K., S.E.T., S.B., U.T., U.K., Y.Y., Y.S. for 'Abuse of Office' and 'Influencing the Outcome of a Match' charges, while Eyüpspor's President M.Ö., Kasımpaşa Club's owner T.C., and former president M.F.S. are charged with 'Influencing the Outcome of a Match.' Additionally, a detention order was issued for U.E., who is considered to have disseminated misleading information and documents by making ambiguous and manipulative posts on social media, for the crime of 'Publicly Disseminating Misleading Information.'
