Kevin Furuta, one of the passengers present at the time, wrote on Facebook: "A girl fell into the sea from the 4th deck, and her father jumped in right after to save her."
Some reports indicate that the father held his approximately 5-year-old daughter in the water for about 20 minutes. Another passenger, Dewayne Smith, described the events with these words: "Everyone on this ship was praying! When the little girl fell into the sea, her father jumped in right after. They were both successfully rescued."
