The indictment prepared against the rival 'Taşlar' and 'Çapkanlar' organizations, which were determined to be operating in the Esenler district of Istanbul, has been completed. The indictment requests up to 15 years of imprisonment for the leaders of the organizations.

The indictment prepared against the criminal organizations named 'Taşlar' and 'Çapkanlar', identified as operating in the Esenler district of Istanbul, has been completed by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

THEY BROADCASTED LIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Investigations conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office revealed that the armed criminal organization 'Taşlar', led by a person nicknamed 'Ümit' (Ramazan Taş), had kidnapped victims in many districts, especially in Esenler, looted vehicles for use in crimes, and became involved in various armed conflict incidents with the rival group, the criminal organization named 'Çapkanlar', while acting in unity of thought and action. It was determined that both organizations broadcasted these actions live on social media.

A CONFLICT OF INTEREST BETWEEN TWO FAMILIES OCCURRED

The indictment prepared by the Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau included 33 individuals as 'complainants', 2 individuals as 'complainant suspects', and 31 individuals as 'suspects'. The report sent by the Esenler District Police Department to the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch was also included in the indictment. The report revealed that there was animosity between the organization members affiliated with the Taş family and those affiliated with the Çapkan family, and that these families committed crimes of 'providing unofficial financial income' through incidents such as 'drug trafficking', 'illegal betting, and card cloning'.

UP TO 15 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT SOUGHT

Ramazan Taş, identified as the leader of the organization, and the suspects Yılmaz Taş and Oktay Taş, described as organization managers, are requested to be sentenced to 7 years and 6 months to 15 years in prison each for the crime of 'establishing an armed organization for the purpose of committing crimes'. Additionally, it was requested that the suspects be sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison for the charge of 'possession, carrying, and purchasing firearms and knives'.
