In the Alanya district of Antalya, a person named Hasan İ. attempted suicide by climbing onto the roof of a building with a knife in his hand. He was persuaded to come down by the teams that arrived at the scene. It was reported that this was Hasan İ.'s 231st suicide attempt.
Hasan İ., who has attempted suicide multiple times under various pretexts in many cities of Turkey, was persuaded during his 231st attempt.
NEIGHBORS GRABBED THEIR PHONES
The incident occurred around 10:00 in the rooftop of a 9-story building located on Özmüftüoğlu Street in the Kızlarpınarı neighborhood of Alanya. According to the information obtained, a 33-year-old man named Hasan İ. climbed to the rooftop of the completed building. Neighbors, fearing that Hasan İ. would harm himself with the knife he was holding, reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
A RESCUE MATTRESS WAS PLACED UNDER THE BUILDING
A large number of police, ambulances, and fire crews were dispatched to the scene. The fire department set up a rescue mattress under the building to prevent the individual from jumping.
PERSUADED
Police teams tried to persuade Hasan İ. on the rooftop to change his mind. After long efforts, Hasan İ. was convinced by the police and brought down. He first underwent a routine check by the medical team and then was taken to the police station by the police.
231ST ATTEMPT
It was learned that Hasan İ. had climbed to rooftops in various cities of Turkey for different reasons to attempt suicide, and that just 5 days ago, he had attempted suicide again by climbing to a rooftop in Gazipaşa, claiming that he had not received dental treatment, bringing the total number of his attempts to 231 with this latest incident.
