In Şişli, Anıl Püsküllü, who was seriously injured in an accident caused by a driver entering a one-way street and hitting pedestrians on the sidewalk, lost his battle for life this morning. With Püsküllü's death, the number of fatalities in the incident has risen to three. It was learned that Püsküllü was involved in the accident while returning to his workplace after withdrawing money from an ATM. The driver, who claimed in his statement that he was unconscious at the time of the incident, has been arrested.
A tragedy occurred on Darülaceze Street in the Kaptanpaşa neighborhood of Şişli district in Istanbul around 4:30 PM the day before yesterday. According to allegations, the driver of a car traveling on the street had a dispute with a motorcycle rider due to entering the wrong way.
DROVE INTO A CROWD OF PEDESTRIANS After the argument, the driver continued to drive in the wrong direction, and as he pressed the gas and increased his speed, he first crashed into a business on the street and then into pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.

Anıl Püsküllü WAS RETURNING TO WORK AFTER WITHDRAWING MONEY FROM THE ATM It was learned that Püsküllü was involved in the accident while returning to work after withdrawing money from the ATM. Additionally, it was reported that Püsküllü worked as a driver for a natural gas company located nearby the site of the accident.
Püsküllü's funeral is expected to be held today after the noon prayer at a mosque in Seyrantepe before being laid to rest.
DEFENSE OF "I HAVE A FAINTING DISORDER" The driver of the car, Ekrem Y., who was injured in the accident and whose treatment was completed in the hospital, was detained by the police. After completing his procedures at the police station, Ekrem Y. was referred to the courthouse. It was learned that in his first statement at the police station, Ekrem Y. claimed that he had a fainting disorder, that he was unconscious at the time of the incident, that he did not remember anything, and that he realized the accident had occurred when he came to.
HE WAS ARRESTED Ekrem Y., who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the court on charges of 'causing the death of multiple people by negligence' and 'causing the injury of multiple people by negligence' and was sent to prison.
