Last night, while 5 of our soldiers were poisoned and martyred, the Ministry of National Defense announced this morning that the number of our soldiers who were martyred due to methane gas has risen to 8.

In a statement made from the Ministry of National Defense's X account, it was stated, "On July 6, 2025, during a search and rescue operation conducted in a cave used by members of the separatist terrorist organization on the 852-meter-high hill in the Pençe-Kilit Operation area, three more of our heroic comrades affected by methane gas have been martyred, raising the number of martyrs to eight."

In this incident that has plunged us into deep sorrow and grief, we pray for the mercy of Allah for our sacred martyrs who lost their lives, and we extend our condolences and patience to their grieving families, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation, and we wish a speedy recovery to those affected," the statement said.
NAMES OF MARTYRED SOLDIERS REVEALED
The Ministry of National Defense shared the names of the martyred soldiers and expressed condolences. The statement from the ministry included the following: Ege Akar, Abdurrahman Akdoğan, Özkan Özkanlı, Mahsun Yeşildemir, Ahmet Kuşak, our heroic comrades, were martyred on July 6, 2025.
