Last week in Syria, following an uprising that began with an attack by elements of the ousted regime, the terrorist organization YPG/PKK launched an assault on Aleppo. A response was given to the organization's attack, and the terrorist act was thwarted. It was reported that losses were inflicted on the PKK/YPG, and a grenade attack was carried out against the elements of the ousted regime that were holed up in the Mezze and Cebel regions. Clashes continue in the area.
As the death toll in the events occurring in Latakia and its surroundings in Syria exceeds 1000, an attack came from the terrorist organization PKK/YPG.
RETALIATION TO THE ATTACKS
In the early hours of the day, the terrorist organization, which continues to exist in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maksut and Ashrafiyeh in Aleppo, took advantage of the events in Tarsus and Latakia and targeted Syrian army soldiers in Aleppo. The Syrian army responded to the organization's attack in the city center of Aleppo, preventing the terrorist act.
TERRORIST ORGANIZATION REPULSED
Colonel Hasan Abdulghani, spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Defense, stated in a statement to the Syrian News Agency SANA that the security forces repulsed the attack organized by PKK/YPG in the Ashrafiyeh neighborhood of Aleppo city center.
The report also mentioned that the terrorist organization "suffered losses."
CLASHES WITH DEPOSED REGIME ELEMENTS ARE ALSO OCCURRING
According to security sources in Damascus, elements of the deposed regime, which have taken refuge in the Mezze 86 and Mezze Jebel areas, launched an attack with a hand grenade. Following the attack, clashes occurred between the security forces in the region and the assailants using light weapons.
DEATH TOLL EXCEEDS 1000
The death toll in the events occurring in Latakia and its surroundings in Syria is increasing. According to a statement from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the death toll has exceeded a thousand. It was recorded that more than 700 of the deceased were individuals killed by gunfire at close range. It was reported that 148 individuals from pro-Assad elements and 125 from Syrian government forces were killed in the clashes.
HOW DID SYRIA BECOME CHAOTIC?
In an attack organized by elements of the deposed Assad regime on March 6 in the Jableh district of Latakia, at least 11 security personnel lost their lives.
Following the attack, the Syrian army dispatched reinforcement units consisting of hundreds of vehicles, including heavy weapons such as tanks, armored personnel carriers, and multiple rocket launchers, to Latakia and Tartus provinces, and launched operations to capture the elements of the deposed regime in the region.
In the operations, at least 50 security personnel lost their lives, while international media and social media reported news and images of some armed groups targeting numerous civilians in the region.
WARNING FROM SHARA
Syrian President Ahmed Shara stated that the elements of the deposed regime were trying to test themselves in the attack on March 6, sending a message of unity and solidarity, expressing their desire to rebuild the country and stating that they had no intention of shedding blood.
After congratulating the security forces in the region for their rapid interventions and performance against the elements of the deposed regime, Shara noted:
"I emphasize that no one should allow the security forces to act excessively or disproportionately, and I say that they should work to prevent this. What separates us from our enemies is our commitment to our principles. The moment we abandon our morals, we descend to the same level as our enemies. The remnants of the fallen regime are chasing a provocation; this provocation aims to create a situation that will benefit them by leading to excesses."
