According to TÜİK data, in November, the highest number of housing sales in Turkey was in Istanbul, with 24,234 sales. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 12,796 sales and Izmir with 8,540 sales. The provinces with the lowest housing sales were Ardahan, Bayburt, and Artvin, respectively.
According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), housing sales in Turkey increased by 13.3% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1 million 434 thousand 133. Here are the provinces with the least and most housing sales in the country.
PROVINCES WITH THE MOST HOUSING SALES
At the top of the list of provinces with the most housing sales is Istanbul, with 24 thousand 234 sales. Ankara follows with 12 thousand 706 sales, and Izmir with 8 thousand 540 sales.
PROVINCES WITH THE LEAST HOUSING SALES
In the first 11 months of 2025, the provinces with the least housing sales were Ardahan with 78, Bayburt with 131, and Artvin with 152.
ISTANBUL IS ALSO AT THE TOP FOR SALES TO FOREIGNERS
In November, 1,943 houses were sold to foreigners. Sales of houses to foreigners decreased by 9.7% year-on-year in November. In that month, the share of sales to foreigners in total housing sales was 1.4%.
Istanbul ranked first in sales to foreigners with 728 houses. It was followed by Antalya with 662 and Mersin with 157 houses. Sales of houses to foreigners decreased by 11.1% in the January-November period compared to the same period last year, falling to 18,993.
THE MOST SALES WERE MADE TO RUSSIANS
The highest number of housing sales by nationality was made to Russian citizens. In that month, Russian citizens purchased 310 houses from Turkey. They were followed by Ukrainian citizens with 159 houses and German citizens with 151.
